We have decided what light units to use over the coral and display tanks at the shop.
But I wonder, what would you choose if you were buying a new set of lights this pay day??

Hi Chris, If i had the money i would look at led lights ,but the only thing other than the cost of the units is, i have never seen a complete reef tank that has been running for a good long time with them on. So at the moment unless i have a windfall will be sticking to the good old 250watt twin halides c/w t5 blues and purples. Cheers Ian.

Well today the lights were paid for, I'll tell you we settled on ATI Sunpower 8x80w to light up the 3 coral bays.
Although we opted for T5 lighting over LED, we are planning display tanks in the shop, which will run LED lighting. The units available to cover 6ft tanks at this moment in time are too costly when we would need several units to provide a good spread for the 3ft width.

At the minute, all the fish systems have t8's, nothing fancy, just a reflector and 2 end caps.
Arcadia do some economy LED strips that are ideal for shop use over fish systems, maybe we will look at trying those over the marine.

We have got the arcadia LED lights for the fish systems. The wider racks will be light by what Arcadia call the Daylight and a Blue, and the standard racks will be lit with a Daylight.
They look pretty good :-)
